random thoughts

so it is 11pm and I can't sleep. Im not even a little bit tired! I think it is because I am a little nervous about a presentation I am helping to give tomorrow to all the area schools' superintendents and others, like 20 people.... yikes!!.... So to try take my mind off it I have been googling "jake and vienna break up" on the internet and reading celebrity gossip (hoping some mindless news will help me sleep.)

• HELLO pretty sure anyone with one or more brain cells saw this one coming. My prediction is that Jake is going to be some guest star on the Bachlorette. Just a thought.
• Last night I watched Kourtney & Kloe take Miami... I cannot believe that they are even allowed to be on TV. Last night's episode incase you are an avid watcher and missed featured one of them giving the other one a bikini wax.... Really? Needless to say I don't think I will miss never seeing another episode again in my life.
• I really DON'T like Lady Gaga. Jerry Seinfield doesn't like her either.

So far that is what I've gathered from my readings :)

Tonight Bobby went to meet TONY STEWART. I was so excited for him because that is his favorite driver of ALL TIME. He went with my dad and was meeting a couple of his friends there. Bobby called me to say he got to shake Tony's hand and tell him how much he enjoys watching him race! It was so cute to see how excited he was! Although I would probably be just as excited to meet Kasey Kahne! (although prob. to tell him how much I enjoy watching his interviews before & after the race...hehe)

Had to buy a shop vac today to try to suck up some of the water that got on our carpet in the basement from all this rain. It did a pretty good job but I just hope we wont get mold under the carpet... One of my girlfriends said that they had to redo some drain tiles outside their house to keep water from getting in there... I hope this was a 1-time thing!!! Who knew having a house was so much work!!!

Tomorrow is my girls night out - we are all going for pedicures - can't wait!!!!!

soaking up the sun & a big boy hair cut

Mason just went to bed, there are toys everywhere, dishes to do, and laundry to put away but instead I am sitting outside on my computer enjoying this wonderful evening! I just love summer nights! I wish Bobby was home tonight so we could have another bonfire... excited for the weekend. We are going to Jamestown to celebrate Hayden's FOURTH birthday!! He is getting to be auntie's big big boy - starting preschool in the fall even!

Speaking of big boys - Mason got his first salon haircut on Sunday with his daddy! The "my parent's-do-it-yourself" cut just wasn't working for him anymore! He sat super still - Janelle even said that he sits still better than his dad :)

I am just loving my new camera bag that arrived on Monday - I had ordered it a week ago so it was taking quite awhile to arrive! But-- it was worth the wait!

here comes the sun....

I actually got to see quite a bit of the sun today on my drive to and from Grand Rapids today. Of course when I got closer to Warren it was of course dark, gloomy, and sprinkling. So another day of not playing outside for Mason.

I have been feeling so sad for all of the tornado victims from yesterday... my aunt and uncle live in Mentor, thankfully they and their home were safe & sound, but there are so many people that weren't so lucky. It is crazy to think that Thinking and praying for all of them and their families.


On a happy note we got to see my relatives from Kansas who were up early this week and all went to my grandparents for a yummy grilled supper.

We also had a surprise visit from our friends Dan & Mikaela on Tuesday night and had our first bonfire of the summer. It was great, even if we did all get eaten alive by mosquitos! {this is a lovely picture taken with my phone of our fire}

I finished book #2 of the year -- it wasn't a "novel" but I am still counting it for my 4/year goal. It was a digital photography book by Scott Kelby - excellent resource - I have been playing around with my camera for hours on end!

Well will post more later - this post is getting very long! Off to watch "ORPHAN" with Bobby - I hate scary kid movies so will probably be closing my eyes throughout the entire thing!! :(

a day off??

My Saturday started today with a work call @ 7:30 AM and I ended up working until about 1PM - not a great way to spend the day! Poor Mason had to try to entertain himself most of the day while I was busy making phone calls. . . After his afternoon nap we went to visit my family in Argyle, came home, ate dinner, and did our night-time routines. This is night #2 without a "baba" and he is doing GREAT! No crying! Now I had the chance to get some scrapbooking done on my computer. I thought it would be SO MUCH QUICKER so I could get "caught up" to a point... I got this *great idea* from the Cathy Zielski website -

Basically, taking a random assortment of pictures from the month to "document" the big things that happened. Check out her website it's fantastic!

I picked May 1st because I didnt have a ton of pictures from May to use, so I thought it would be quick.

I am trying to learn how to create a template on photoshop so once I get a layout I like I can just do the same for the other pages.

it is so quiet @ our house right now--- mason is in beddie bies and Bobby is gone to drill for the weekend and then Boys' State Sunday - I feel like I should be doing something a little more productive than "playing" but it feels so nice to just sit here with my feet up! We went to the most BEAUTIFUL wedding this weekend!!! Thanks to Jay & Tracy Whittaker for the wonderful weekend. I took close to 300 pictures but most of them are a little blurry!! Here are just a few--

I had this "big plan" to put a digital scrappage to show off the pics Mason & I took tonight (Bobby was gone to softball... and Mason wanted to play photoshoot again! I had to say OK!) BUT as I was ALMOST done - it FROZE, and so everything was lost!! So anyways- here are a few of the pictures- I will have to make them into a page some other day!

Getting anxious to go to a new scrapping place in AUGUST - I know it is a ways away but summer always seems to go by too fast, so I am sure it will be here before we know it. For the rest of the summer, they are offering a special, $50 per person for the entire weekend w/a min. of 5, up to 10. Haven't been able to get to sleep the past week - I think my body is on *summer hours* late nights & late mornings - except work is getting in the way of the "late mornings" thing! Even Mason is wanting summer hours - he was still up bouncing around in his crib at 9 - and on Monday he slept until 10AM!! So did Bobby & I - I can't remember the last time we got to do that!

Over the long weekend we didn't do anything too crazy - just had a lot of quality FAMILY time. Bought Mason a stroller to go behind our bikes, so we spent a lot of time bike riding - Mason loves his new stroller. I would too if I were him!

It is only a 3 day work-week for me - Friday we are off to "The Rock" for Jay & Tracy's wedding! Mason is staying w/"gama" and "gapa" all weekend long! Better try to get some sleep, as my mom would aways say "morning is going to come early!"
