fair time!

this week has been the week of the marshall county fair. 3 days down, 2 to go! We have been spending a lot of time just walking around the fair. Mason hasn't gone on any rides yet but has played, and won TWO separate times on the duck game ((the one where you pick up a duck and you win)). I just got done watching the fireworks from our bedroom window. I never noticed we could watch them from here the past 3 years!

Bobby went to Fargo tonight to a wedding and then to pick up our nephew Preston (after watching Preston's softball game). We are SO excited to get to spend the week with him! He is staying with us while his parents move some stuff down to their *new home* in Oklahoma and start to get things settled. Bobby already has an itinuary for the two of them!

Tomorrow we are going to the fair early-afternoon and then off to Fargo for a wedding. Sunday will be another day of the fair, Monday back to work! Can't believe it is already the last day of JULY!

touching base

It's FRIDAY! my favorite day of the week, it always has been. We have been busy bees lately, it seems. I dont have time to upload any pictures but the past 7 days we:
-Went to a wedding 7-17-10 - had such a great time! Mason stayed with my sister and brother, and Bobby & I stayed up WAAY too late!
- Tuesday = softball
- Last night I had girls night out @ our house. We made kabobs (??) on the grill - it was my first time actually running the grill so I was a little nervous but I think they turned out great! not too bad for my first time, anyway

Today Mason has his 18 month checkup as it is his 18-month "birthday" today! Wow - hard to think he has been around for a year and a half already! In some ways it seems like he has always been around (because I honestly don't remember life without him!) and in others, it seems like it was just yesterday he was so tiny!

Tonight we are having a fish-fry @ my aunt's in Grand Forks. My grandpa is up from St. Cloud. Saturday Bobby is working in Minot, and Sunday I take off for the cities for work! Then next week the Marshall County Fair starts!

the adventures of a&m (amber & mason)

Bobby is gone to Fargo for work tonight, so I am on the computer, listening to Mason sing away in his crib, which he has been doing for the past hour! We went to my grandparents' tonight, showed up right as they were starting dinner, so they invited us to stay! It sure beat the tacos I was going to make tonight!

Mason has been LOVING bike rides (see above picture) - I tihnk the bicycle trailer thing we bought was probably the best $200 I have spent... this summer anyway! We have been getting so much use out of it. It is a little more "exciting" than walking in the stroller.

Mason has been begging (literally) me to put in "baby-songs" for him almost every day for the past 10 days. He doesn't get to watch it everyday, but it is not a pretty sight when he is told no! I will be very happy when the DVD is returned to my parents' house! These pictures are of him watching it. He is starting to sing along to the "no-no-no" and "yes-yes-yes" song. He bobs his head and is usually on the wrong verse (as far as no/yes) but it is so cute to watch.

I had walked into the kitchen to get something, and when I came back, Mason was hanging out with all his things (including the remote) on the coffee table. He is my climber!

Put another post on my other website - which I think is going to be myscrapping website from now on. We will have to wait and see how I try to manage 2!!!

We had a very low-key day today... can honestly say I don't think we got a single thing done! Maosn had stayed at his great-grarents house last night so Bobby & I could go to the races. Mason had such a blast, thanks again grandma and grandpa!

It is 8PM and Bobby & I are in our bed... Bobby watching TV and me playing on my computer (of course!) Made these 2 pages tonight from templates I downloaded. I did order my 1st batch of digital pages late last week, been anxiously waiting for them to come so I can start filling up the new scrapbook & refill pages I bought.

a new adventure

What a perfect night for softball this evening! Mason and I stayed out at the softball diamond for about an hour and a half.. which believe it or not is quite awhile for us (Mason) to stay! Now he is out like a light. And yes, I am on the computer again! Really should be doing something else with my time (like catch up on the Bachelorette episodes - haven't watched a single one!). Anyways- I just wanted to share w/my digital scrapbooking friends a new blog I set up - amber's digitals- real original title I know, but I wanted to be able to share the templates ((and hopefully some other things once I get the hang of it)) I make with my friends and it would get to be too much to put all in one place! Ok - now my laundry is seriously calling my name I think!

sore eyes

I think I have probably spent too much time on the computer today as my eyes are starting to get dry... but I have been so excited about my *new* photoshop elements that I downloaded this morning. It is still only Elements 7.0 but I have been using 2.0, which I had been using since my sophomore year in college, so this is a HUGE upgrade for me, haha! I have decided I am going to start making templates - it has saved me so much time. The 2-page spread below took me probably 20 minutes to do, journaling and all (minus the 3 hrs it took to download/install, create templates, organize pictures... :) )

ANYWAYS--- was so nice to have a 3-day weekend! Didn't get a whole lot done but had a great family weekend. Will post pictures later on this week.

this is what I worked on tonight while bobby watched the mets! Took these pictures before the daily cleaning ritual of picking up Mason's toys that somehow wind up at every end of our house each day!

the fair, a new toy, and a free taco!

Just in time for this coming weekend thought I would post some of the pictures from LAST weekend! Friday night I went to meet up with a couple of my girlfriends @ the Farmer Dell - it was Meet Your Neighbor Day weekend in Argyle so there were lots of old "neighbors" there to catch up with! Didn't stay long but was nice to catch up!

Saturday we were off to Jamestown to celebrate Haden's 4th birthday! Mason had a blast playing in the pool and the HUGE inflatable jumper... so much so that I had to go buy him a mini version to keep in the house for rainy days! We have used it lots already; even though it looks ridiculous set up in the house, Mason loves it.

Sunday we went to the Grand Forks fair - Mason went on his first fair rides. He could only go on 2 rides -the Merry-Go-Round and jump house. He was scared at first, but then didn't understand the concept of having to get off when the ride is over, and was a sad little bear! He also won a little stuffed bear at the duck game. The BEST part of the GF fair was my WINNING A HOBO-TACO at the pig races! :)

Today Mason got to spend a fun day w/his daddy - our daycare provider is on vacation - Mason loves his 1:1 days with dad! For some reason I think they are more adventerous than days @ home with mom! They did bring home some SUPER cute pictures from the photobooth in the mall! Not 100% sure what we are doing this weekend... usually we go to Andrew & Meagan's in DL but they are expecting baby #2 very soon!!! So instead we are going to stay a little closer to home and go to Maple for the day. Maybe I can con Bobby into even going to Old Mill on Saturday!
