Where do the days go???

That is what I ask myself EVERY single day when I finally get to bed. It seems like I get nothing done! (except of course take care of Mason) And he is a GREAT baby! I really dont want to know what my house would look like if he was colicky... Our goal right now is to try to get on some kind of a routine during the day. Mason does a great job of sleeping at night -- usually he has one 'late' feeding (around 11-12:00) and then he is good until 3AM. Then he wakes up, we change him and he eats, and then is good until 6AM or so-- then eats, and sleeps again until 8AM. Then he doesnt want to take a nap at all during the day, too many things to see and do I guess. He will kind of doze off for about 45 min to an hour, and then wake up again-- this is where the days go! I dont mind him being awake for most of the day, it is great I get to spend so much time with him-- we are so lucky that I get to take my full 12 weeks of maternity leave... although it gets harder and harder each day to want to go back to work- I really wouldn't mind being a stay at home mom! (hint hint Bobby :) )

SELF Challenge

Yesterday I went for a quick jog on my treadmill while Mason slept-- I know this sounds weird but I forgot how good it felt to move like that! I had only been walking probably 3 times a week at most toward the end of my pregnancy-- I actually wanted to keep going but had to stop when Mason woke up! (PS: I wrote this down so I can read this when I am sick of jogging) Today my legs are even a little sore!

It also made me decide that I wanted to do the SELF Challenge again. I did it back in 2006 and actually got my name published in the magazine (it was very very very very small print with about 2,000 other names, but it was in there!) and my goal is to be in there again this year! I wish there was some way for me to make a group, but I sent out emails to a few of my friends to do it with me- it is a good way to stay motivated - if you want to be a part of the group send me an email and then I will send you an email to sign up.

growing!

here are pics taken at 2, 3 and 4 weeks (right to left)

1 month old already!!!

I cant believe how FAST this past month has gone by! Oh my goodness!! What I can't believe even more is how I have gotten nothing accomplished this month, even writing on my blog. Partly because we haven't had internet at our house, and partly because I spend my days taking care of our little guy! This past week, he hasn't been sleeping much during the day, which normally would be good, but he has had some tummy troubles (gas!) that keep him from sleeping. I feel so bad because it seems like nothing I do makes him feel better. Poor little Mason! :(
The pictures above are his two week pictures-- and today he is one month old-- that just shows how busy I have been! I am excited because I ordered a ton of pictures from snapfish and they came in the mail today, so now I can get busy with scrapbooking. (hopefully...)
On a completely different note-- Bobby & I are planning a trip to Orlando this summer! Bobby won a trip through his work-- he has been working SOO hard this month to get this trip, I am so incredibly proud of him. I dont know how he does it, balancing work and being home to care for his family, and he is still doing most of the housework. Thanks honey! The trip isn't until this summer, it would be nice to get away from these cold winter months, but I'm still not going to turn down a free trip!

*Welcome Baby*

The past few days have been the happiest, craziest, fastest 9 days of my life. I can't believe it was already over a week ago that our little miracle was born! He is so perfect in every way... Bobby & I are so incredibly *blessed* that we have been chosen to be parents to this little bundle of joy. Bobby is the best daddy in the world, it is so special to me just to watch the two of them interact and love eachother.

For those of you who haven't heard Mason's story about how he came into the world, here is a brief summary:

I had a doctor appt. on Friday at 2:30PM, Dr. Lachance looked me over and said that I was dialated almost to 3, and that she would see me next week, unless she saw me before. It was like 'famous last words' that are in the movies... So after my dr. appt, I had a visit to do for my work, and then I went to Bobby's office. I am so incredibly thankful that God had me stay in Grand Forks that day.

Bobby & I were getting ready to go to the Sioux/Denver hockey game, and while at his office, I started bleeding. I have never in my life been so scared. We immediately went to the ER and called the birthing center. They rushed us right in. It was such a whirlwind. I think we got to the hospital at about 5:45 PM, and at 6:00PM I was in the operating room getting a spinal and ready to have a c-section. I just remember asking over and over again if Mason was ok. I remember getting into the room and seeing like 25 different people all wearing blue gowns and caps. Bobby wasn't even allowed down there right away, but I remember asking for him 80 million times. I also remember the nurse who gave me my anestesia made me laugh by saying to me "has anyone ever told you that you look like Cameron Diaz?" I dont know if it was all the pain killers I was given but it made me laugh hysterically. I remember Bobby sitting right on my left side rubbing my face and telling me he loved me over and over agiain.

Then, I remember hearing Mason's cry. A million feelings all rushed over me at once. I have never been speechless before in my life, but literally no words would come out of my mouth. All I could do, and what I did was start screaming. I was so excited and happy. I looked over and watched Bobby cut Mason's cord while they finished stitching me up. We were officially parents.

Once Bobby, Mason & I got settled into our hospital room (room #426), Bobby gave me my "new mommy" present-- a new beautiful wrap for my wedding ring. He had been fooling me for months before, I was sooo positive I was getting a new computer.

Since then, our lives have been more incredible than I ever thought possible. Bobby has been not only the world's greatest dad, but also the world's best husband. He has been doing ALL of the cooking and cleaning, while me & Mason pretty much just hang out in our bedroom. We are slowly getting into a routine, and I am starting to get used to not getting any sleep and still being able to function.

We came home from the hospital on Monday, and this week at home has gone by so fast! It seems like I have gotten nothing done, yet the time has just flown by. Saturday was our fist outing-- we went to Fargo to size my wedding ring and met up for lunch with our friends Corey and Alicia. Then we took off for Grand Forks and spent the evening with our other great friends Matt & Delicia and their kids.

Wow! I think this is the longest post I have ever written- it has just been a very exciting week!
