Happy New Year!!!!
- quit swearing-- or at least not so much. I think I might even start a swear jar :)
- be more productive at home & work-- sounds better (easier) than 'quit procrastinating' or 'get organized'
- Run in the Meet Your Neighbor Day 5k this year-- this should also hopefully get me working out on a regular basis
- Read 3 novels -- this is quite a high goal for me actually; I havent read an entire book (not counting baby/pregnancy/child rearing) since college. I am open to suggestions on some good reads!!!!
- be the best mommy, wife, and person I can be :)
I think that is a good start! #2 and #5 are pretty generic but that's ok I think! Now off to get some much much needed cleaning done (see #2!)
Happy New Year everyone!!!!!

missing: 1 living room
I think it is burried somewhere under all these toys!!!
overall we had a GREAT christmas, other than the fact that bobby and I were SICK Christmas Eve-- yuck. We stayed in Argyle @ my parents Thursday night and ended up staying Friday night too because of the blizzard. Mason got a ton of toys and a new METS toybox to put them in... it is plump full already. I dont know what we are going to do when his birthday comes in less than one month!
We came home to a good 2 feet of snow in our driveway - it was quite tricky trying to carry Mason into the house through the huge drifts. It took Bobby over 2 hours to snowblow out our driveway... We had Christmas with Bobby's side of the family the weekend before - it was so nice to see everyone! Angel & her family spent the night - we miss hanging out with those guys; we dont get to see them that often! :(
Bobby was so pumped that he finally got his snowmobile! It was his Christmas ***SUPRISE***from me- I did have some help from my dad and a couple of Bobby's friends- thanks so much! That funny looking face is because I put a MRE (miliatary meal) in the box with his snowmobile gloves to add some weight (he thought he was getting a pool table cover) -- that look is because he has no idea and doesn't get the joke... I havent gotten a chance to go riding with him yet but it looks like this snow is going to be here for a while!
I am bummed that the Christmas Season is officially over tomorrow-- it seems like I never really even get into the *Christmas spirit* until like a day before Christmas, and then I'm always sad it is over so quickly!

favorite time of day
Last night Bobby & I finished wrapping gifts for our neices & nephews and for Mason. It is so crazy to compare last year's Christmas to this year.... we bought & wrapped presents for our SON, and put Love MOM & DAD on the tags! You would think after almost 11 months we would be used to being a MOM and DAD but still from time to time we just stop and talk about how crazy & awesome it is that we are actually PARENTS!
I have been really tring to take 1 picture a day this December -- I know a lot of people do this for an entire year but I thought I would just start out with 25 days to see if I could do it. Here are a few of my favorites---- (PS: I have a confession - I have cheated a couple of times, some of the pictures are taken on the same day!)
Break time is over!!!
DC Trip!
Then Friday morning we went to a "Spousal Breakfast" for me! The other wives and I got recognized by the Sargeant Major of the Army National Guard, a beautiful glass picture frame, and an award. And a free breakfast! Friday afternoon we took a tour bus around all the monuments - WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Lincoln, Washington memorials. Took lots of pictures!
Saturday we did some shopping @ National Harbor -- did you know there is actually a store JUST for the PEEPS bunnies? Crazy!
Saturday night was the awards banquet - so many "important" speakers. I'm not sure his exact title, but the "main" gentleman talking had bodyguards and his own flag when he came in! Bobby told me that the President has his own flag too, as does the Secretary of Defense, etc.
Sunday we had a later flight so we managed the DC "Metro System" (ie: subways) and went to Arlington National Cemetary, where we saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns. That was pretty awesome.
Back at the airport we learned our flight to Mpls was delayed, which was no suprise because every one of our flights had been delayed so far; however, when we did eventually get to Mpls, we learned that our flight to GF had taken off ON TIME, of course! So we had to spend the night @ a hotel! We did make it back to GF Monday morning, then went to get the Mase-dog @ his aunties.
It was a wonderful trip! Thanks honey!

yikes!
- I went to a going-away party for one of my best girlfriends Sam-- she and her husband Drew moved to Cavalier! :(
- Sioux hockey games -- lots of them!
- Vikings game w/Jay & Tracy 11-15
- The night before the Vikings game Bobby & I went to see a play @ the Jungle Theater in uptown - it was INCREDIBLE!!!!!
- Mason turned 10 months old on 11-23!!! How fast time flies!
- Thanksgiving: We went to my grandma's here in Warren - had lots and lots and lots of food and my grandma even drug out the old photo albums! So fun to look at all the old pictures!
- Dec 1st: We officially got our first snowfall - and what a snowfall it was!! Wish I would've taken a picture outside Nov 30th because we went from having NO snow whatsoever to having TONS of it (like in the picture above)
- Mason got his first wrapped Christmas present to put under the tree (which we just set up today, but still need to decorate it!)
Otherwise it has just been work-work-work!!! I have also been trying to work on some new crafty things for my etsy store - will let you know when they are ready... here is a hint - nothing to do with vinyl lettering :) Also got the tree up today - FINALLY! - and attempted to do some holiday baking. Got the recipies off the martha stewart website - I should've known better-- my cookies turned out HORRIBLE :(
Today Bobby was gone to drill so Mason & I got to have a M&M (Mommy & Mason) day - we played a lot, read some books, and just hung out. I was so excited Mason stood by himself for like 5 seconds (counting fast -- so probably really just 3 seconds) - I had been holding onto him below his armpits and then let go. He would've done it for longer I think if he hadn't realized I wasn't holding on to him. His new favorite thing is to walk back and forth across the living room with his john deere tractor.
Well - I'm off to get some much needed scrapbooking done!! Or to bed which sounds equally as exciting to me!
