4 month check-up

Mason had his 4-month well baby checkup yesterday- he is a growing growing growing boy! He weighted 18 pounds, 3 oz! He is in the 97th percentile for his weight, 75th percentile for his height, and almost off the charts for his head circumfrence. In other words, he is a big boy! I cant believe how fast he is growing up and how much he changes and brings us joy each and every day.

Happy Memorial Day!

Today's random tidbit: I learned on the Today show that Memorial day used to be called Decoration Day because that was the day that people would "decorate" the headstones of all of the fallen soldiers.

We didn't have daycare Friday, so Bobby & Mason had a "daddy-son" morning, and then I took the afternoon off work-- so it has been almost a 4-day weekend! wahoo! It is rainy and miserable (52 degrees) right now but that is OK, the darkness outside is helping Mason to sleep in! And of course, I was up at 7:30 this morning and couldn't fall back asleep...

Friday and Saturday night we stayed in a hotel in Fargo and got to spend time with Bobbys mom, his sister, and her boys Friday night. Her little boys are growing up so fast! Haden is going to be 3 in June and spent all night referring to everyone as "honey." "Come here Honey..... No, honey.... Over here honey...." we thought it was really cute - his parents thought otherwise as he's been doing this for quite awhile now :)

It was our first "mini-vacation" as a family - and we could tell! We forgot SOOO many things!!! I am surprised we rememebered Mason! We were kind of rushing to get everything packed, I think that is why. Oh well - live and learn I guess. I think I am going to make a list for our next trip away. I guess everyone was right when they said you never get your mind back after you are pregnant!!! (at least now I have an excuse...)

Saturday we went out to eat with Bobby's brother, sister and their families, and then we went to West Acres mall- Mason LOVED looking at the fish! Then we went to Johnnny Carino's to eat (Italian nachos! yum!!) and back to our hotel and watched home videos all night. Well, I shouldn't say all night because I fell asleep at 11!!
Mason turned FOUR months old on Saturday!! I can't believe how FAST the time has flown by... He is getting to be my big boy!!! :(

wednesday

all i can say is thank goodness daycare is closed Friday and I only have to work half of a day! what a crazy day at work today, and tomorrow is going to be even MORE crazy-- my day is so busy I am just dreading going to work. Oh well, at least when it is busy, it makes the time fly!

Here are a few pages I made tonight on photoshop. I downloaded a bunch of *free* kits from ShabbyPrincess.

wonderful weekend

I had such a wonderful weekend! On Saturday, Bobby and Mason had "Daddy Bootcamp" in the morning at Altru Hospital-- Bobby went as the "veteran dad" to help teach the class. The instructor of the class told Bobby he was the best teacher they ever had! wahoo way to go Bobby! Mason was a trooper too! While Bobby & Mason were away doing that, I got some alone time at the house-- I got so much done! Then I went to meet them for lunch @ Grizzly's, and then we went to the mall... I used my gift certificate for pedicure/manicure that Mason got me for Mother's day, and Bobby & Mase did some shopping. It was such a wonderful day to spend as a family!!! Then yesterday we just bummed around the house- Mason and I went for a LONG walk - it was a little windy, but we trecked through it. Went to see my grandparents, and then back home. When we got back, we took this picture of Mase holding up his own bottle! (it didn't last long but he still held it up all by himself)

Now another workweek is here. . . at least I only have 4 1/2 days to work-- daycare is closed Friday so I "have" to take Friday afternoon off- plus no work Monday- wahoo!!! :)

so tired!

Bobby is gone to Community Board tonight, so me and Mason are hanging out. He has not taken a nap at daycare for the past two days, so he has been a very tired little guy! He went to bed about 7:30 tonight, and I got to finish up some scrapbook pages that I started on Sunday. Work has been just nuts this week, I don't know if it is really busier than usual, or if I am still not "adjusted" to being back at work. I am just exhausted; I'm calling it an early night and going to bed!

mason's first art project

Isn't Mason's artwork beautiful?!?! He made it at daycare yesterday- all of the kids made these for their mommy's for Mother's Day. It is his very first "art project" I will treasure it always. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful daycare provider! This weekend is my "FIRST" mother's day-- and it has really made me appreciate all of the sacrifices and things my own mom has done for me for the past 25 years! THANKS MOM!!!

I am pumped to do some scrapbooking- on Wednesday, Bobby bought me a bunch of stickers, and I even found these PAINTS for only $5!

Me & Mason are just bumming around at home today-- it is only 36 degrees so no walks for us today :( Bobby had drill in Devil's Lake this weekend- it has been the first drill he has had to go to since Mason has been born, so we can't complain, but we do miss him! The pics above are of Mason watching the Mets game with his daddy last night- it was so funny, he was SO interested in the game!

thoughts

My mind always wanders; most of the time, it wanders without me even realizing it. I think that some people would call this ADD, which I think I might have. I have never been able to stay focused on anything, even back in high school. I would be reading my chemistry book and all of a sudden I would be thinking about what color dress I should get for prom. I dont think this is neccesarily a bad thing- I think that I get my best ideas when my mind wanders. I remember things that I need to do, or would like to do. Like today, I was at work writing an email and all of a sudden I was thinking about what my "ideal" scrapbook/office would look like. Then I started thinking about what my ideal job would be. Obviously, I am not the only one who would like to be a stay-at-home scrapbooker-- I google-searched "careers in scrapbooking" and it came up with 738,000 results! Then I have thought about making slideshow videos for people; it is something I like and something fairly easy too. There is also a company I found called "bound to remember" where basically they make digital albums for people. I could SO do that, and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do that! So if anyone who reads this is interested let me know - I would do it extra extra cheap for you if you promised to "tell your friends!" Oh, in a perfect world... well, it is time for me to head back to work; lunch break and fantasy world is over :(
