yikes!

I didnt realize I havent written on here since Nov 11th!!! I dont even have a good excuse like we were on some exotic vacation away from all technology, although I sure wish I was today! It is 9 degrees- feels like 30 below!!!
So what have the Buzick's been up to?
  • I went to a going-away party for one of my best girlfriends Sam-- she and her husband Drew moved to Cavalier! :(
  • Sioux hockey games -- lots of them!
  • Vikings game w/Jay & Tracy 11-15
  • The night before the Vikings game Bobby & I went to see a play @ the Jungle Theater in uptown - it was INCREDIBLE!!!!!
  • Mason turned 10 months old on 11-23!!! How fast time flies!
  • Thanksgiving: We went to my grandma's here in Warren - had lots and lots and lots of food and my grandma even drug out the old photo albums! So fun to look at all the old pictures!

  • Dec 1st: We officially got our first snowfall - and what a snowfall it was!! Wish I would've taken a picture outside Nov 30th because we went from having NO snow whatsoever to having TONS of it (like in the picture above)
  • Mason got his first wrapped Christmas present to put under the tree (which we just set up today, but still need to decorate it!)

Otherwise it has just been work-work-work!!! I have also been trying to work on some new crafty things for my etsy store - will let you know when they are ready... here is a hint - nothing to do with vinyl lettering :) Also got the tree up today - FINALLY! - and attempted to do some holiday baking. Got the recipies off the martha stewart website - I should've known better-- my cookies turned out HORRIBLE :(

Today Bobby was gone to drill so Mason & I got to have a M&M (Mommy & Mason) day - we played a lot, read some books, and just hung out. I was so excited Mason stood by himself for like 5 seconds (counting fast -- so probably really just 3 seconds) - I had been holding onto him below his armpits and then let go. He would've done it for longer I think if he hadn't realized I wasn't holding on to him. His new favorite thing is to walk back and forth across the living room with his john deere tractor.

Well - I'm off to get some much needed scrapbooking done!! Or to bed which sounds equally as exciting to me!

Catching up!!!

Wow where did October even go? It is already almost 1/2 way into November - so hard to believe that in just about 1 month Mason will be opening up his first Christmas gifts!!! Time has been flying by it seems, although I can't even remember what we were so busy with in October! Here are just a few pics from Halloween, Mason playing in our leaves, and just random pics around the house. The odd looking one with Jefferson in the box: Jeff jumped into the box, and then Mason was pushing Jefferson with his walker around the kitchen - it was the funniest thing I ever saw! Both of them were loving it! Maybe you had to be there but it was pretty funny!!!
Today Mason is @ daycare and Bobby & I both have the day off - going to try to get some much needed things done - shampoo the carpets, throw out my dead flowers that are still in their pots outside (yikes!), pay bills (boo!), get some scrapping done (yay!) and hopefully put up some Christmas lights since it is SO beautiful outside! I am really loving the weather we are having this week - right now it is 9:30 and it is already 45 degrees - it has been warmer in November than it was in October. Maybe that means we will have a warm winter?!??!!
One final note: Thank you to all military members/Veterans (*especially to my amazing husband and wonderful grandfather*) for serving/having served our country. There are so many freedoms that we all take for granted but we need to remember that we only have these things because of the dedicated men & women who have sacrificed so much. Like the saying goes freedom isn't free.

3 generation high chair

Wow it has been almost an entire MONTH since my last post-- I WILL write one HUGE post one of these days, I promise, but in the mean time, there is only 10 minutes before Brothers & Sisters starts!
After church today, Mason & I went to my grandma & grandpa's house, and I was talking about wanting to take a picture of the high chair that Mason uses at their house -- it is the same high chair I used, and the same high chair my MOM used too! My grandma had already taken some pictures and sent them to me.

Crazy, this high chair was bought in 1955 and still standing strong!!! Mason especially loves banging his hands on the metal tray!!!

boo!!!

no, not halloween "boo" but boo because the sioux-gophers game ended in a tie tonight and boo that bobby & i weren't able to go! Poor bobby had a temp of 105 tonight - so needless to say we didnt venture out to the game like we had planned. Instead we watched the game on TV, sitting far away from eachother so I dont get sick! (at least not until bobby is better, someone needs to take care of our little bear!)

it was an exhausting day today-- so nice to just sit back and relax tonight. Came across a new website I like -- Divine Digitals finding all kinds of new (free!!) digi-scrapping kits. They do a challenge every other month it looks like - no big fabulous prizes, just some "in-store credit" if you will, for buying things off their site. Here are 2 pages that I made for their "October Challenge" -- learned a few new things on my photoshop while trying :)

...and one just for fun

afternoon off!

I have this afternoon off due to working Monday, and becuase we have no daycare today. This AM Mason & I went to the doctor, Mason has been coughing really bad, and I have been having a bad earache-- they are really taking the flu business seriously!!! Even though I didnt think either of us had "flu symptomms" they made both of us (Mason too) wear little masks, and then the nurse and doctor came in wearing surgical gowns and facemasks. I felt like we were in some bad movie. Anyway- thankfully neither of us have the flu (or the swine flu) -- we both just had ear infections. We were at the clinic for almost 2 hours because they have been so busy/backed up. The doctor here also thought it might be a good idea to get him checked out for mild asthma (sad face!!) because he has had so many problems with his coughing off and on for so many months... he goes to his regular pediatrician again Nov. 3, we will see what he has to say about it. Strange because no one in my or Bobby's family has it. My mom thinks he is allergic to Jeff. Hopefully neither of the above is the case!

Now Mason & I are at home, and I am making homemade buns for the first time ever... the first batch (plain old white buns) is in the oven and batch #2 (garlic & herb buns) is "raising" -- we will see how they turn out! For this batch I am just using the recipe from the better homes & gardens cookbook - I know my great aunt Ruby used to make "delish" buns but from talking with my mom, they sound like a lot of work and maybe require an "intermediate" baking level-- I am "novice" at best :)

I have also been slacking on the pictures-- but here is a halloween card that I made and that many of you will be getting in the mail (that is my task #2 to complete this afternoon).
Being home right now has made me think that I would really love to go to working part time, even one afternoon off per week would be about perfect... or even finding a work from home job of some sort--- but that is not really an option right now so for the mean time I will have to just enjoy my afternoon :)

Homecoming

Another cRazY weekend! Saturday we went to UND homecoming as both Bobby & I are PROUD ALUMNI (go sioux!!) -- we went to the parade and met up with so many of our friends-- then after the parade we went to Bobby's old fraternity house and had hot dogs & chips and ALL the babies played together-- it was so cute!!! Below is a picture of the 4 babies - 3 of them born within 12 days of eachother! Impossible to get a picture of all 4 of them looking the same way, or not eating eachother :)

Then Sunday night was the first Sioux hockey game for the season -- Mason loved the action! It was a great game 7-1! Yay! Go Sioux! I have more pics on my facebook page -- it is quicker!

Bobby is gone this week to Vegas for work -- I am SO SO SO SO SO SO SO proud of him - I will be putting up a separate post but he won "Chief's 54" which means he's "kind of a big deal." He was the #1 recruiter for the STATE of ND for FY '09- which is AWESOME! He is a REALLY big deal if you ask me! So now me & him get a trip to Washington DC in December where he will participate in an award ceremony. Honey I am so unbelievably PROUD of you and so very happy happy happy for you!
