oh the weather outside is frightful...

I can't believe we are having such bad weather when it was so nice last week! What is nice though is that I dont have to go outside to go to work tomorrow! I don't mind snowdays when I don't have anyplace to go, and I can just stay inside and cuddle by the fire like me Bobby & Mason did today.

Friday was my birthday! Bobby & I had gone out to eat @ the "Lodge" in Argyle while my parents watched Mason on Thursday--then we went home to eat cake! Saturday we went to the ND HS state girls basketball tournements at the Alerus, and then Saturday night I went out to eat with my friends Tiffany & Jodi.

On Sunday, my best friends held a baby shower for me, it was so sweet of them, I have the greatest friends in the world! Mason got so many cute outfits, toys, and "practical" baby items like diapers, wipes, and other diaper bag items. I have been busy writing thank-yous, trying to get them out ASAP.
Well, Mason is having a hard time falling asleep, so it is time to read our favorite book "Can't You Sleep, Little Bear?"

another page

I actually got the chance to scrapbook 2 days in a row! Mason has been taking longer naps - I think he is going through a growth spurt. . . The trick I learned in my last creating keepsakes was basically to pick out your paper and then get going -- I always sit and debate and debate and debate over what paper I am going to use. This layout I got done in about 20 min! A record for me I think! (PS: That is my chair in the background, incase you are wondering)

Here are 2 pages that I made back in January and just never posted or hopefully didnt post.

Again it is crazy where my days have gone! The biggest thing I accomplished today was moving all of the milk I have stored in bags to the chest freezer in the garage and a load of laundry. I am excited though because tonight Bobby & I are heading to "The Lodge" (aka: Farmer Dell) to go out to eat for my birthday (even though my b-day isn't until tomorrow)

Tummy Time

I made this page (out of all scraps except the blue polka dots!) because Mason absolutely HATES his tummy time. He always has. I guess it is getting a little better each day, it just depends on his mood how long he is going to put up with it. It is so funny- he will cry and cry and then I will roll him onto his back and he will keep crying a little bit until he finially realizes he isn't even on his tummy anymore!

"After"

so yesterday I decided to color my hair something different -- I have never had anything other than various shades of blonde hair in 25 years, except for 1 week in high school when we attempted to dye my blonde blonde hair "Egyptian Plum" and it turned into streaks of orange... but anyway... I thought as long as I was at it I may as well get a cut too! I dont even recognize myself!' of course it looked better yesterday when my hairdresser fixed it, why is it that it never looks like the day you left the salon? honestly, I had even debated not showering today just so I could enjoy the 'professional' style one more day. Then Mason peed on me & I didnt have a choice (as you can tell!)

laugh of the day

I got this email from my friend Jessica today, and it made me laugh. I'm sure to a lot of you it seems very dry & somewhat inappropriate but I guess if you are a SW you need to be a little dry and inappropriate sometimes or you go nuts. (more nuts than you already are)

You know You're a Social Worker when...
1. You think $40,000 a year is "really making it".
2. You don't really know what it's like to work with men.
3. You know all the latest lingo for drugs, where to get them, and how much they cost.
4. You've started a sentence with 'So what I hear you saying is...'
5. You've had 2 or more jobs at one time just to pay the bills.
6. You tell people what you do and they say "that's so noble".
7. You have had to explain to people that not all social workers take away kids.
8. You use the words 'validate,' 'appropriate' and 'intervention' daily.
9. You spend more than half your day documenting and doing paperwork.
10. You think nothing of discussing child abuse over dinner.
11. People have said to you "I don't know how you do what you do".
12. You've never been on a business trip or had an expense account.
13. You know a lot of other social workers who have left the profession for another.
14. You've very familiar with the concept of entitlement.
15. Staying at a job for 2 years is 'a long time'.
16. Your phone number is unlisted for good reason.
17. Your professional newsletters always have articles about raising salaries...but you still haven't seen it.
18. You've very familiar with the term 'budget cut'.
19. You can't imagine working at a bank or crunching numbers all day.
20. You've had clients who liked you just a little too much.
21. Having lunch is a luxury many days.
22. You've been cursed at or threatened...and it doesn't bother you.
23. Your job orientation has included self defense.
24. You have the best stories at any cocktail party.
25. Your parents don't know half of the stuff that you've dealt with at your job.
26. You know all the excuses for a failed a drug test by heart.

first scrapbook page

I finally got my first scrapbook page done of Mason- it didnt really turn out that great, I am kinda bummed. I want his baby album to be perfect, I think that is why I have been putting off doing any pages of him (that and I havent had time!)

Today Bobby took the day off to spend some time with me and Mason- it is so nice that we had a long weekend together. Friday night we stayed home and watched a movie - Steel Magnolias - it is a movie with Julia Roberts from like 1980 but it is really good. The girls reminded me of me and my best friends!

Saturday night we went to a birthday party for Bobby's friend Mike in East Grand Forks, and of course I forgot my camera! Sunday Bobby went to the Sioux game with his friend Corey and Mason & I headed to A-town to see my parents and try out their new Wii fit. I couldnt believe how hard some of the activities were; I did a 'fitness/balance test' and it said my fitness age is 39!!! AAA! (ps: that is not a good thing). At leat I have the excuse that I just had a baby -- already 5 1/2 weeks ago.
Speaking of, I cant believe how fast the time has been flying by- this Friday my maternity leave will already be half over! Sad!!!
