keeping up with the buzicks

yes i have been watching WAY too much useless television the past 5 weeks! and yikes, I have already been @ home for 5 weeks, the time has flown. So bummed that next week will mark the 1/2 way point of my maternity leave. Chase and I have been sooo incredibly lucky that daddy has been home with us this entire time too!

^ Chase with his new friend Jorja

Mason has been loving everything about Toy Story - loving doesn't begin to describe it - he has been sort of OBSESSED for the past three months! Everyday he wants "Big Woody" - which is his talking Woody doll, and actually the medium sized one out of the bunch! He also has an extra-big stuffed Woody and a small Woody (see above). We also made the mistake of telling him we ordered him a Jessie doll too, so everyday he asks if it came in the mail. I also think both Bobby & I have every single word of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 memorized.
When we aren't watching Toy Story or playing with our Toy Story dolls, we have been trying to spend time playing out side because it won't be long until WINTER is here!

On Monday, Chase officially turned 1 month old. He is such a mellow little guy (99% of the time anyway!) - we just love him to pieces! Crazy there are some days where I will think he looks exactly like Mason did when he was a baby, and somedays they look nothing alike. Im also noticing Chase's hair is starting to turn a little red - watch out we might have a little red head boy on our hands!!

picture time

Last Thursday and again on Sunday (Neither Mase or Chase were in a picture taking mood Thursday evening - so they came back again Sunday-- thanks again for doing that!!)we had family pictures taken by my very talented friend Michaela and her husband at Sustad Photography - this is a 'sneak peek' at a few of them - I can't WAIT to see the rest!!! I am especially in love with the one of Mason & Chase together! Just couldn't wait until morning to share- I am off to bed! ((probably should've went to bed an hour ago after both boys were out))

hurray for electricity!

Our electricity is back on after a 23-hour hiatus! Hurray!!! It went out Monday about 6:30 - and when we woke up (after having a *slumber party* in the living room with my boys because it was too hot upstairs) it STILL wasn't back on... So after Mase went to daycare, Chase & I went to spend the day at my parents' house. I got a couple scrapping pages done:

now today my plan is to start doing some of the things on my "to-do" list from yesterday!!!

chase joseph buzick

we are so incredibly in LOVE with this little guy!
Chase Joseph was welcomed to the world at 5:06PM on Friday -
weighing in at 9 pounds, 8.7 oz!
He is such a great little baby - so mellow, happy, and content!
Mason has been such a good big brother to him - calls him "my baby." Loves to give him lots and lots of hugs and kisses. Loves when he is awake, always wants to wake Chase up when he is not.

Chase had his first doctor's appointment yesterday (weight check) - he is almost right back up to his birth weight.
After, we survived our first trip to Target as a family of FOUR.
Chase slept the entire time.
Mason got some new TOY STORY wall decals for his room (he and daddy hung them up last night, Mason picked where they went). He has been a champ at sleeping in his new big boy bed, in his new room! We were so worried that he was going to be crawling in and out all night - but he hasn't done that at all.

Bobby has been home with me during my maternity leave so far- doing ALL of the cleaning, cooking, even brought me LUNCH (..and breakfast too) in bed!

life is wonderful.

8 days and counting...

8 days or less to go until Baby B #2 gets here. Insane! I cant believe how fast the past 9 months have gone by... July has seemed to go by the fastest of them all!

Tomorrow is our 2nd to last doctor appointment - so excited to meet this little guy! We have been "talking" quite a bit on my way to/from work appointments - I've been trying to prepare him for life in the 'outside' world! Have everything packed up and ready to go to the hospital... his clothes are all washed and folded. I told myself when Mason was first born that I was NOT going to fold onsies/pjs/burp cloths for our 2nd baby because they always just end up messy anyway, but it was just too fun to fold them all again, since they are so small!

Last night we put together Mason's toddler bed and started to get his new room ready. The PLAN was to get everything done WELL before the baby got here so that Mason wouldn't feel like he was being kicked out of his room (even though he is getting an upgrade to a bigger room!)

One of the BIG things we had going on in July was Mason's first swimming lessons. He had them in the baby pool, and his class was called "Guppies." He LOVED LOVED it! Everyday I picked him up from daycare he would ask "swimming?" Even better, quite a few of his little friends were in the same class. So fun to watch them try their hardest to be patient... There were 10 kids and 3 lifeguards teaching!

We were also busy with going to Bobby's softball games - at the tournament we went to watch in Crookston he even hit a home run! We must be good luck!!

Last week was the Marshall County Fair-- we went most of the nights! My grandparents were even in a program for Warren's Outstanding Senior Citizens (and in the parade too!) So proud of you guys! I realized took 250+ pictures while at the fair -- will need to post more of them later as it's getting late....

summer fun

Hurray, summer has finally arrived! We have been loving spending lots of time outside, running here and there... Bobby is gone to drill in Devil's Lake this weekend. He is the new platoon sergeant for the RTC -- it is a huge responsbility and honor that he got selected for that position.
We are so so so so INCREDIBLY proud of him!!!
Friday marked 34 weeks for Baby B - only 5 more until he arrives~ 34 days to go! YIKES. Checkup on Thursday went great - heartbeat was 150 - measuring right on. I can't believe he is going to be here in just over a month...we are still set for a c-section August 12th. Feels so strange that we already know his birthday 8-12-11. So excited to meet him-- what will he look like? what will his little quirks be? We have sooo much to do it seems like before he gets here.
Need to get his room ready for one! With Mason I think we had his room ready by Thanksgiving time -- we did get a toddler bed for Mason today - so that is the first step in getting him ready for his new room (since he is going to be the older brother, we figured it would only be fair for him to get the big room, and baby will have his room). would like to get it painted (just to freshen it up) before he 'moves in' but dont think that is going to happen!

We had a pretty mellow Fourth of July weekend last weekend. Lots of family time which I loved. Been trying to treasure every moment we have together while we are still a family of 3, which won't be too much longer! Saturday afternoon we had family over for grilling and Bobby's spectacular fireworks show! Some of our neighbors even came out to checkout the show :)
Monday we had planned on going to Maple Lake for the day but decided to stay closer to home. We spent the afternoon @ the pool - decided that we really need to go there more often! Mason loved it, and it was a perfect day for swimming! After, we went to eat at Space Aliens in Grand Forks and look @ some new pickups for Bobby. Came home and found out that in the 3 hours we were gone, we missed a hail storm -- golfball sized hail! Crazy.

Bobby picked me up the new (well probably not that new but I didnt have it yet!) Taylor Swift CD (what a honey!!) - came across this song - makes me tear up every time I hear it! My song for my Mason --
Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light

To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that

Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple

I won't let nobody hurt you
Won't let no one break your heart
No, no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up, never grow up
