tubes

We are hanging pretty low this weekend... Mason got tubes put in his ears yesterday... he is doing GREAT but we just didn't want to do anything too crazy this weekend. He was doing great when I came home last night - laughing and running around just like usual but Bobby said that he cried for quite a while when he came out of anestesia. My friend Amanda was his nurse during his surgery so I know he was well taken care of!

I hope this video works... it is Mason & Jefferson "playing" (aka: Mason hitting poor Jefferson with the stick end of a cat toy). It was hilarious to watch - both Mason & Jefferson were having a blast!! I wish I would've been able to record it sooner before Jefferson went up on the couch (which is usually his sign that he is starting to get annoyed!). Speaking of cats found out Thursday that Mason has a slight allergy to them... On the bright side, cats are the only thing he is allergic to! The doctor didnt think we needed to get rid of poor Jefferson since the allergy is so slight but we are trying to find a good home for Jefferson.... Mason is absolutely LOVING his new PLAYHOUSE! My friend Paula hooked us up with this playhouse from one of her friends whose little girl has outgrown it and even came with me to pick it up and put it together. Mason loves popping his head out of each of the 3 windows and then runs in and out and in and out, shutting the door each time. It is sure to bring us all MANY HOURS of entertainment! Thanks Paula!

This is Mason's new favorite inside toy - the broom. Since it is out after EVERY meal it is no wonder why! Need to find him one his own size so he can sweep next to me. He is so observant it boggles my mind sometimes!

Tomorrow we have church, then are having a family BBQ @ our house with my parents & grandparents. Hope the weather is nicer tomorrow as today was so cold & rainy.

15 month checkup!

Mason had his 15 month checkup today - he is my BIG boy:
31 pounds = 95+ percentile
32 inches = 75th percentile
he is almost a square!!! (31x32) :)
we spent this past weekend in Bismarck - Bobby's office put on a WONDERFUL family weekend for us all. we went down Friday night after I was done w/work and then on Saturday did some shopping, ate lunch @ Olive Garden, went back and hung out at the hotel, and then Saturday night had a dinner, awards banquet, and a presentation on balancing marriage/work... it was a very good presentation! After dinner the kiddos went to a "play" room and they had hired us babysitters from a daycare center so that we could really enjoy the presentation & awards ceremony. So nice that Bobby's job does that!!! VERY few jobs do things like that.

Sunday morning we took off for the ZOO - Mason had never been to the zoo before, so it was really fun to see him look at all of the animals.. he really enjoyed the wolves! I wish I would've had a video camera - the wolves were howling, and then Mason howled back at them! "awooooooooooo" Then they started back up and this went back and forth a couple times. Everyone around us was laughing! Then Mason cried when we walked away.
He also really liked feeding and petting the goats! No exaggeration, Mason was asleep by the time we got out of the zoo parking lot!
I took today off work so that I could get some things done and take Mason to his appointment this afternoon - but instead slept in until 9:30 today - Mason must've ben just as tired as me! Bobby is in Fargo for work tonight and sent me these BEAUTIFUL flowers with a card that said "I miss you already" -- pretty sure I have the most amazing husband in the world, thanks honey :)
well, off to bed for me!

earth day insomnia

It's Earth Day and I can't sleep! Not sure what the 2 have to do with one another (nothing) but I am not even the least bit tired - my body is but my mind is racing and there is nothing to watch on TV to zone out to!

For those of you who don't know, I am a huge Earth Day fan (it is "Earth Day" almost every day at our house) - so today Mason & I were rocking our "Hug a Tree" (me) and "Earthasaurous" (mason) shirts. Bobby didn't have an Earth Day shirt to wear. :(

Had big plans to plant my garden today and do the recycling but didn't do either. Bobby had taken out the recycling, and I changed my mind about what to do with my "garden" - was going to plant it on the side of the garage, but sure if they will get enough light there... our yard is so darn shady. Thinking of just getting some big pots and putting them in the sunniest corner of our yard - anyways- the garden did not get planted. The pumpkin and tomato pots are still sitting by the sink.

ANYWAYS- came across this website, The Daily Green - if you haven't done anything to celebrate Earth Day today, check it out!

Got everything packed for Bismarck this weekend, and the pack&play and stroller loaded up into the vehicle already even - we are leaving RIGHT when I get home from work tomorrow!
I heard from one of my coworkers that they have a nice zoo - might have to check it out - I think Mason will LOVE to see all of the different animals!

Mason's first haircut!

Tonight we gave mason his very first haircut! His hair was getting to be sooo long so we jut decided to cut it tonight after dinner -- bobby cut and I held his head as still as I could. It's crazy how much "older" he looks now that he lost his baby curls!!! I kept all of his hair in a little baggie- not sure what I am going to end up doing with it but wanted to keep it just incase!

***
Here are some pics from this weekend - playing outside, @ happy joe's and enjoying an apple.

mason had been afraid of going on the sidewalk or in the grass after he fell on the driveway playing at daycare last week - he is just now feeling brave again! poor little bear!

mason had fun "playing" the games and "helping" mom win lots of tickets!!

mason had his first whole apple last weekend as well - bobby had been eating an apple and giving Mason pieces of it... well that wasn't enough - Mason took off with the apple to his favorite place to chill out - the bottom of the stairs!
*****
is it just me or is this week taking FOREVER?!?! Friday can't get here soon enough!!
Going to go spend some time with my loving husband - it is our SIX YEAR "first date" anniversary today (Earth Day Eve!!). Remember it is EARTH DAY tomorrow - do something nice for our planet, it does nice things for us :)

catching up (again)

It's been awhile since my last post again -- where has the last 2 weeks gone? Scrapbook camp was great last weekend - got 20 some pages done could've got more done if I wouldn't have been enjoying wine & visiting so much - thanks girls for the great weekend! :)

i am really loving this coffee right now - my grandma brought it back from Florida with her and gave it to me because she didn't like it. seriously I get excited drinking it each morning because it is that good!!! Gevalia move over..time for something new!
Yesterday we went to TRF to do some shopping and went to McDonalds for lunch... after we came home and Bobby & I cleaned the scrapbook/nintendo/computer room. It is one of our favorite rooms in the house (when it is clean!!). Would love to make it a room like this:

Today we are off to church and then later this afternoon to HAPPY JOES with my family! Hurray for Happy Joes! Tomorrow it's off to work early --- heading to a training in Bemidji and have to leave Warren @ 6:45 :(
Better go, Mason is up!

new tricks

mason has been just a bag full of new tricks lately it seems - he has been talking more and more, imitating more and more (now we need to start watching what we say for sure!), and constantly trying to do new "tricks" and moves...which in turns means more owies for him. This week he has been working on walking backwards - he thinks he is being tricky by "sneaking" away from me - this works until he runs into something. . . Today he started trying to stand on his head, out of nowhere! We had been watching baseball (mason was playing along with his baseball toy) and next thing I knew Mason was trying to watch it upside down!

This weekend is my big girls weekend scrapbooking trip - or EXTRAVAGANZA as I prefer to say! Will be so nice to get away and RELAX!!! Mason is staying w/grandma DeeDee Saturday since Bobby has Jay's bachelor party this weekend too. A busy weekend for all of us!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! What a wonderful day we had today - we went to my parents' home and also there were lots of other family members too - although we missed going to Angel's, it was nice to be so close to home today. Mason must've been excited to see what the Easter Bunny left him - he was up at 6:45 this morning - we managed to keep him in bed with us until 8:30 but that was it. We then colored/dyed eggs, mason's is the colorful middle one - he colored the design w/the "magic" crayon himself!

We then packed up and went to my parents for a HUGE Easter lunch and dinner and visiting with grandpa, Arliene, Gwen, Terry, Katie, Dustin and my parents. This is the 1st time in a LONG time that I remember having a big family dinner at my parents' house for Easter. I guess it is never too late to start a new tradition!
It has been a 3-day weekend for Bobby - he took Friday off to stay home with Mason, and also stayed home with him all day Saturday while I had my wonderful spa day - they had some good father/son bonding time, I am told :) Went to Salon Seva for my day of pampering- I had never been there before but really loved it - would highly recommend!!! Tomorrow is already Monday - but a short week for me!! Hurray! (<- Mason hates Mondays too)
