is it friday yet???

This work week has been wearing me out! I was so bummed today when I realized it was only Wednesday--- maybe it is because this is my first full week in 3 weeks...

Last weekend we had such a blast-- Bobby's sister and her family came up to stay with us- we love being able to spend time with them! Our friend Delicia and her two beautiful girls also came over for our BBQ/campfire. It kinda actually felt like we were at the lake (complete with the scenic snake river in the backyard--- ha!)- we even roasted marshmallows and made s'mores!

Saturday morning was a very big day for Mason -- he got his first taste of rice cereal! He loved it -- didn't even get too messy, except for when he started trying to grab for the spoon.

Last night I went to a baby shower for my friend Danie and her little girl Eve -- Eve is so beautiful - it was so crazy to believe that Mason was ever that small; it was just a reminder of how fast they grow! There were 6 out of the 10 "original Argyle girls" at the shower - it was so great for all of us to be together!

Next Tuesday we already leave for Florida~ it is going to be so hard to be away from Mason for that long but I know he will be very well cared for by his auntie Angel!!! :)

Happy 4th (9th) of July!

Wow is this summer flying by! I cant believe that the 4th of July is already over... where does the time go? For the 4th of July, we went to our friends Drew & Meg's house on Lake Munson-- it has been our tradition for 3 years now! This was our first year "with children" - more than a little change! :) Mason got to experience his first boat ride - I dont think he even knew he was on a boat - and I got to try to water ski (unsucessfully). Then Drew's mom watched the two boys for a couple hours that night so we could make the trip to Pelican Lake and see the awesome fireworks display. Thanks Becky! We are so blessed to have such great friends. Thanks so much for having us Drew & Meg! We had a blast!

Here are a few pics of the boys-- so strange to think that next year they will be chasing eachother around!!! Dillon was rolling all over the place - and he taught Mason how! Now Mason rolls from his back to his tummy all the time (then he gets mad because he can't get back over again!)

mynd weekend

Saturday was Argyle's 126th annual "Meet Your Neighbor Day," and Mason's first! Unfortunately, it was a cold, rainy, windy day. My friend Jill and entered Mase & her baby girl Jerzey in the Kiddie Parade-- they went as a "just married" couple in their matching strollers. Their strollers WERE decorated super cute w/tons of streamers & balloons, but it was so windy ALL of the balloons fell off -- I guess we should have taken some before pictures! The rest of the day we usually walk around town, have a few drinks, and "meet our neighbors" but this year was so gloomy we just went to have our STORM tacos, then stayed @ my parents'.
Then Sunday me bobby and Mason did some shopping-- We bought Mason a "Big Boy" car seat -- his only goes up to 22 lbs and he is already 21 so it was time to make the change! To be honest I am a little sad--- he has grown so fast!
He holds his bottle all on his own now (except when his arms get tired & then he gets mad no milk comes out!)... so now I told him it is time to sleep through the night! we are working on that next. :)

now&then

I found the other picture of Mason & his curious george-- the picture on the left is from 2.21.09, and the other picture is just 4 months older- 6.23.09. Wow! He really has grown like a weed! {sorry you have to tilt your head for some reason the picture keeps uploading the wrong way}

5 months have flown by!!!

Mason turned 5 months old yesterday! The time has just flown by. Each day brings us something new and exciting, and each day just keeps getting better and better. His little personality, and his smiles and giggles always brighten my day. I took some pictures of him looking in the mirror, smiling, but when I looked at them I realized how dirty my mirrors are, so when I clean them, I will post them! :) It is so crazy to compare this picture of Mason next to his curious george to the one that we took the day he was home from the hospital. Curious George used to be bigger than him! So hard to believe!

For father's day we were officially the 'Green Family' all matchining in our green shirts. We went to church, then I gave Bobby his father's day presents - a tie with Mason's picture on it (from snapfish) was his favorite.

Mason also has been enjoying spending time in his "big boy chair" - aka: his highchair. We put it together Sunday. Havent started him on solids yet so right now he just plays in his highchair while mom & dad eat.

Below is a picture of Mason & his grandpa (my daddy)-- I just love this picture!

Happy Father's Day!

Bobby finally made it home yesterday after being gone for almost 2 weeks. He was supposed to be home Friday but his flight was cancelled due to bad weather in Chicago... Mason was so excited to see him! We then went out to eat @ Texas Roadhouse with my parents.

These pictures are from earlier in the day when Mason & I went to the park. We are so lucky that this park is right across the street from our house. There is rarely anyone there, so it kind of in a way just feels like an extension to our yard!

Bobby & Mason are still asleep in bed together... they are both sleeping the same way. Time to wake them up to get ready for church!

Happy Father's Day!

love my new camera!!!

My new camera has finally arrived!! Actually it arrived yesterday. I was at home on my lunch break and I saw the UPS truck drive up-- no lie, I ran out of my house and met the UPS lady at the end of the driveway! Then I ran back in the house. Anyone who knows me knows that I have this need to "touch" things right when I get them, so I unpacked everything from the boxes and monkied around. Here are some of the pics I took last night. I kept Mason up past his bedtime last night because I was so busy taking pictures of him! Then when he went to sleep, I picked on poor Jefferson, and after Jefferson ran away from me for the 8th time, I figured it was time for me to go to bed!

I just love it so far. I have no clue what exactly I am doing - last night I was just moving the dial around and seeing how the pictures looked different. I have vowed to myself I am going to read the entire manual so I will know how to run my camera inside and out-- so far I've read through page 5...

Yesterday Mason also had an appointment with an orthodist (is that even a word??? orthodics/prosthetics) to see if he needed a helmet. I have been so paranoid and worried that he was going to need one, so at Mason's last appointment our doctor told us (me) that HE didnt think that Mason needed a helmet but if it would make me feel better he would refer me...The doctor Mason saw told me that his head was fine-- it is a BIG head-- in the 100th percentile (that's ok dad says-- bigger brains!!) but it is "perfectly shaped." Whew now I can stop worrying! Im sure now I will just find something else to worry over.. I'm told that's what mom's do!

I am so happy Bobby comes home Friday night!!! Only 2 more days!!! Honestly, I have a whole new respect for single moms and moms whose husbands are deployed. Talk about superwomen!!!!!!!
