a busy week!

Wow my second-to-last week of maternity leave has just flown by! Another weekend is already here, I can't believe it. Bobby & I just got home from going out to eat, we had planned to go to church for Good Friday service, but when we got there, no one was there! I forgot that in Warren, they rotate where the Lent services are and we didnt want to look like fools going into church late. Oh well!!

Last Sunday was Mason's baptism, everything went very well. SO many of our friends came to celebrate the day with us... it meant sooooo much to us - we are so lucky to have such great friends. The only downfall about Sunday was I lost my phone. We STILL haven't found it - it is hiding somewhere in our house. I did go and get a new phone Wednesday.

Mason officially has his first ear infection. I brought him to the Dr. Tuesday because he STILL has an awful cold. Dr. Shelton looked in his right ear and said he had an ear infection. He has to take medicine, but he takes it like a champ!

This weekend we are off to Jamestown to Bobby's sister- it will be so nice to visit with them and for Mason to visit with his cousins!

my *spirited* baby

So today I took a quiz in my Baby Whisperer Book and it said that Mason is a *spirited* baby. I did this quiz when mason was just a week old (I think then he was a "textbook" or maybe even an "angel" baby) and it is so amazing how much is personality has formed already even though he is just 10 weeks old (tomorrow). I literally started to laugh out loud when I read the description because it seemed to fit him to a tee.
Spirited Baby: This is a baby who seems to emerge from the womb knowing what he likes and doesn't like, and he won't hesitate to let you know it. [Spirited babies] are very vocal.... he often screams for mom and dad when he gets up on the moring... he hates laying in his own pee or poop and says "change me!" by boisterously vocalizing his discomfort. He babbles a lot and loudly. His body language seems to be a bit jerky....
Then I read "he'll notice other babies before they notice him, and as soon as he's old enough to develop a good firm grasp, he'll grab their toys as well." Oh no! I hope Mason doesn't grow up to steal other kids' toys at daycare! And... that as soon as he can crawl he'll get into everything! We better start child-proofing the house now!
There are so many other sections of the book that perfectly describe him, especially that once you establish a routine for him, he seems to change his mind. That is what we are struggling with right now!!! I was so happy because we pretty much had his day 'scheduled' from 7am-about 3:30 pm, and then from 8PM onward, and then today, completely out of whack.
I can't believe I only have 2 more weeks of maternity leave-- the time has just FLOWN by -- it seems like it was just yesterday I was saying "oh no my maternity leave is 1/2 over" and that was already a month ago!!!

family time

we didn't do too much of anything this past weekend-- on Friday the 27th, Mason had his 2 month well-baby check...and he got 3 shots, which he did really good at, and I only got a *little* teary-eyed! He is doing well- in the 75-percentile for his weight-- he is already 12 pounds, 10 oz, and growing more every day! Pretty soon he won't be able to sleep in his bassinet anymore since it is only safe for 15 pounds and below. :(

Did some digital scrapping on Sunday after church while watching the nascar race. Mason has had a bad cold this whole week... brought him to the doctor today because he started crying the saddest most heartbreaking cry I have ever heard. I was worried he had an ear infection, but everything was ok-- his ears were a little red but the dr. said that was due to his cold. So, other than the nose drops (saline solution) we are just toughing it out!

I also started a FlickR account today so I can put up more pictures-- but I have no idea what I am doing! I'm just going to keep playing around and hope that I will do something right! You know, I used to think I was pretty good at figuring out computer stuff, but it seems like I am getting more clueless the older I get!

smiles!

Mason is smiling! I am so happy! He has smiled before but I was never positive if it was a "real" smile or a "gas" smile! Actually, the very first time I saw him smiling huge was at his grandma's house on Monday when Bobby & I came back from going out to eat; he must've missed his parents! He is also talking so much now- I just love hearing his little "oos" and "aaaas" and squeals! He was so patient with his mommy while she took 8000 pictures of him trying to catch him smiling-- by the time of the last picture, he was getting bored!

another snow day!

today is another snow day-- which I know is not good because we already have WAY too much snow with no place to go, but on the positive side, it was another day where I got to stay home with *my boys* They all took a nap this afternoon, it was so cute - I was the only one awake in the house so I got some scrapbooking done!

I made Mason a little baby book of our family for him and I to "read" together and made a 1 month page - I can't believe we already had his 2 month pictures taken Monday-- time is flying by SOO quickly!

Here is a picture of Mason on St. Patrick's day in the onsie his crazy grandma (my mom as she calls herself) got for him -- as soon as I put it on him, he spit up all over it. I really think it was on purpose! :)

scrap-happy

here are a few pages I got done today while Mason took a nap-- I tried a new philosophy out that I read in my creating keepsakes magazine-- that is basically to stop changing my mind 80 million times and just make a page. I got all 3 of these pages done in just one hour! Wahoo! They might not have turned out the best, but at least I am getting them done!
