Mason's Room

On Veteran's day I finally finished putting up the border in mason's room-- next we just have to put his crib & dresser together and then put up pictures and the curtains, and his room will be complete! We also got him a bouncy-seat and a swing-- it is all set up and ready to go! I couldn't wait to get it set up, and so now it is just sitting in our living room where it will sit for 2 months until he is ready to use it.

back to the pioneer days...

all weekend long bobby & my brother dustin went out hunting - it was my brother's first time deer hunting, he was so happy to have bobby take him. He "caught" (haha) a deer on his first shot, and even though it was a little on the small side, it still made him happy nonetheless. then today, bobby got a buck. i know nothing about huntinig whatsoever but i guess it was a big deal-- and even though i think these pics are a little gross (very gross) i am putting them on my blog because i am so proud of bobby & my brother. if we lived in the pioneer days, we would be able to have food this winter :)

baby furniture!

We finally picked out a crib & dresser for little Mason! it took me so long to pick one out, as any of my friends will tell you, i ALWAYS take FOREVER to make decisions (even when it comes to shampoo)-- i think i had "picked out" about 8 different cribs/dressers before finally deciding on a set. Bobby kept agreeing with me whichever set I would like-- his "say" in it was that he wanted the set to be cherry-- which was incredibly helpful for me because out of the 500+ cribs I looked at online (target, walmart, babies r us, and about 4 random sites), there were a lot less available in a cherry finish.

this weekend

This weekend was ANOTHER busy weekend for us -- one really great thing about having something to do every weekend is that it has been making my pregnancy FLY by! I am already 24 weeks along! Over half-ways there!!! Can't wait to meet our little Mason! On Saturday, Bobby's stepsister Sara got married in Fargo. We went to her wedding, and then right after the reception, we had to leave early to get to UND's Homecoming as Bobby was required to be at his Sig Ep annual meeting since he is on their community board. It was fun- we got to see our friends from DL -- Meg, Amy & I -- the three mama's to be got to hang out. It is crazy we are all due within 1 week of eachother! Then yesterday Bobby left me at 9AM to go to Bismark for work :(
< This pic of me from this morning at 24.5 weeks!

The Questioner

i was reading my friend meagan's blog, and she had came across this cute personality test called an ENNEAGRAM; here are my results... it kind of actually suprised me how accurate it was!

6 - the Questioner - your Enneagram type is SIX (aka "The Loyalist").
"I am affectionate and skeptical"
Questioners are responsible, trustworthy, and value loyalty to family, friends, groups, and causes. Their personalities range broadly from reserved and timid to outspoken and confrontative.
How to Get Along with Me
Be direct and clear.
Listen to me carefully.
Don't judge me for my anxiety.
Work things through with me.
Reassure me that everything is OK between us.
Laugh and make jokes with me.
Gently push me toward new experiences.
Try not to overreact to my overreacting.
What I Like About Being a SIX
being committed and faithful to family and friends
being responsible and hardworking
being compassionate toward others
having intellect and wit
being a nonconformist
confronting danger bravely
being direct and assertive
What's Hard About Being a SIX
the constant push and pull involved in trying to make up my mind
procrastinating because of fear of failure; having little confidence in myself
fearing being abandoned or taken advantage of
exhausting myself by worrying and scanning for danger
wishing I had a rule book at work so I could do everything right
being too critical of myself when I haven't lived up to my expectations
SIXes as Children Often
are friendly, likable, and dependable, and/or sarcastic, bossy, and stubborn
are anxious and hypervigilant; anticipate danger
form a team of "us against them" with a best friend or parent
look to groups or authorities to protect them and/or question authority and rebel
are neglected or abused, come from unpredictable or alcoholic families, and/or take on the fearfulness of an overly anxious parent

SIXes as Parents
are often loving, nurturing, and have a strong sense of duty
are sometimes reluctant to give their children independence
worry more than most that their children will get hurt
sometimes have trouble saying no and setting boundaries

baby shopping!!!

I am beginning to think that I dont know if I can wait until February to have little Mason! I am already getting so exited to meet the little guy! Over the weekend Bobby & I got to spend time with his side of the family- we got to see all of our little newphews and neices-- they are all growing up so fast! Brea just turned 1 on August and Cole turns 1 at the end of October - they are so cute and are both just wonderful babies-- it sure doesn't make waiting any easier for me!

So while I've been on hold with people today at work, I have been updating our baby registry. Bobby told me I should wait to start buying a crib and "big things" because when Mason's room is all ready, it is just going to make me that much more impatient!!!

I'm also thinking Mason is going to be a good shopping partner when he gets bigger because every time that I see something I really like, he starts kicking around! MAYBE it is a coincidence, but I like to think it's not :)
