Amber Woods (almost)

On Tuesday, I went golfing for the very first time in my life! I went with my friends Samantha and Amanda-- I am so thankful that they are as patient as they are, and also thankful that they let me only count how many times I actually hit the ball, not how many actual swings I took :)
I'm bummed that I forgot my camera but our "new thing" is that we are going to go every Tuesday so I will put on more pictures next time.

PROMOTION!

Thursday was a very important day for us this week; bobby got promoted to SERGEANT FIRST CLASS!!! I got a call from his boss on Tuesday asking me if I could take off work for a few hours Thursday morning as there was 'something special' going on at bobby's office. The Colonel even flew in via helecoptor from Bismark to present Bobby with his new rank-- E7! My family came, and so did a few of bobby's friends from work. It was so awesome to see how many people came to support and congratulate bobby. I was even presented with a beautiful boquet of flowers!

I am so proud of bobby- he always gives 110% in everything he does.

Bed & Breakfast!

Last weekend Bobby & I went to St. Cloud to stay at the VICTORIAN OAKS bed & breakfast (or b&b as people 'in the know' call it). It was so great to just get away for a weekend, and we had so much fun!!! we arrived around 6pm. we had never been to a "b&b" before so we had no clue what to do! we toured the home, which was built in the early 1900s and had all victorian furnishings...our room was the St. George Suite & had a walk-out porch that overlooked the front lawn. even the bathroom was designed to look how it would in the early 1900s.

since we didnt know what else to do- bobby & i went out for a few drinks downtown and then brought back a bottle of wine to our room and ordered pizza and watched movies, and exchanged presents we had bought eachother.

the next morning we awoke to a wonderful breakfast of scrambled eggs, asparagus, and fetta cheese (yes all mixed together-- it was actually great!), along with rum-lit yogurt and fruit. yum yum!

we liked it so much that we decided that we are going to try to make it an annual event!

digi-scrapping

So last night I spent about all night up on my computer using digital scrapbook kits that I got at http://www.scrapwow.com/ I totally love it! I have never really digital-scrapbooked before, but I ended up spending the whole night on my computer. And my favorite part was not having a huge mess to clean up when I was done!

Preston

Two weeks ago, Bobby and I decided to "practice" being parents and had our nephew Preston come stay with us (tony & tangie's son). Here are just a few pictures I took at the park.

Welcome to my OFFICE!

Everyone has good and bad days at work, but as long as the good outweigh the bad, I think that means you have the right job! Today has been going pretty good, so I thought I would take some pictures of my office before my day changed around. I just love how my desk calendar says "April 18th" on it, before that it had some day in March. I like to think of that as my last day that I had time to mess around with my calendar! What I love most about my job is that every day is something new. I love that I can have days where I dont feel like being around anyone and spend the day to myself, or go out and about the county-side visiting with families when I want to be outside! Not everyday is good, and there has been more than 1 day I have come home from work and cried.... I am so grateful for the people I work with. They all understand how I feel and are great sholders to cry on! When things arent going so great, I always remember what a close friend of mine once told me "just be thankful that you have a job that provides you with a sense of accomplishment/purpose in life. you are making marshall county a happier and safer place for kids to live, one child at a time." I have that written out on my computer; I always look at it when I've had a bad day to remind myself why I do the job I do! Then I look at my "hippie" kids picture that Bobby hates that I have hanging in my office and I get a smile on my face!
